KARACHI: Spokesperson to the Mayor of Karachi and Parliamentary Leader of the Pakistan People’s Party in the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, Karamullah Waqasi, announced that under the leadership of Mayor Murtaza Wahab, measures are being accelerated to enhance education, healthcare, infrastructure, and civic facilities across Karachi. The handover of six schools in Lyari to The Citizens Foundation is a significant part of this initiative, aimed at providing quality education and free schooling for deserving students.
According to the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, an agreement has been reached between Lyari Town Municipal Corporation and The Citizens Foundation for the transfer of six schools in Lyari Town. This initiative aligns with the Mayor’s vision to improve the educational landscape in Lyari by offering a better educational environment and alleviating the financial burden on parents.
Parliamentary Leader Karamullah Waqasi emphasized that alongside infrastructural improvements in Lyari, transformative changes are being introduced in the education and healthcare sectors. The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation remains focused on enhancing the quality of life for citizens by providing basic facilities throughout the city.
The Mayor’s spokesperson noted that the foundation will not only rebuild and enhance these schools but also provide free education to deserving children. This initiative is expected to be a significant milestone for the area’s development.
Additionally, Mayor Murtaza Wahab has intensified the monitoring of ongoing development projects across Karachi, inspecting several initiatives during a recent visit. These include the construction of a new service line on Shahrah-e-Quaideen and other key roads. The city government, in collaboration with the Sindh government, is committed to deploying all available resources to ensure visible transformation in Karachi soon.
Karamullah Waqasi highlighted that Mayor Wahab is attentive to the citizens’ concerns, maintaining direct communication with the public through initiatives like the upcoming e-Kachehri. This platform will allow more citizens to present their issues directly to the authorities.
The spokesperson reiterated that equal emphasis is placed on education and healthcare alongside development projects, demonstrating the city’s commitment to improving civic facilities and public welfare.
