Lahore, In a critical operation led by the Punjab Police, a grandson attempting to flee the country after murdering his grandfather has been apprehended at the airport. This arrest comes as part of Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar’s intensified crackdown against individuals involved in severe criminal activities.
According to Punjab Police, Abdul Wasay, the accused, had last year killed his grandfather over a property dispute in the jurisdiction of Ahmednagar police station, Gujranwala. The Punjab Police’s Special Operation Cell, vigilant in their pursuit, had entered all pertinent information regarding Wasay into the PNIL list at the airport, anticipating his attempt to escape abroad. The strategic placement of this information facilitated his capture as he tried to leave the country. Following his arrest, the spokesperson for Punjab Police announced that Wasay has been transferred to Gujranwala Police for further legal proceedings.
