Islamabad: The Federal Constitutional Court of Pakistan (FCCP) marked Earth Day by reaffirming its dedication to environmental sustainability, emphasizing the necessity of protecting natural resources for both current and future generations.
According to Press Information Department, the Court’s statement aligned with this year’s global theme, underscoring the collective responsibility of institutions and individuals to adopt sustainable practices and enhance environmental awareness. The FCCP highlighted its ongoing initiatives to incorporate eco-friendly measures within its operations, such as optimizing resource utilization, reducing paper use, and fostering an environmentally responsible workplace.
Honourable Chief Justice Mr. Justice Amin-ud-Din Khan stressed the dual constitutional and moral obligation of environmental protection, urging individuals to integrate environmentally responsible practices into their homes and daily routines. He emphasized that environmental safeguarding is closely linked to public welfare, justice, and the rule of law, and noted that Earth Day serves as a reminder of shared responsibilities in both professional and personal spheres.
