Kohat, Funeral prayers for the policemen martyred in a recent terrorist attack were held at the police lines in Kohat, attended by high-ranking officials from the police, Pakistan Army, and local administration. The solemn ceremony marked a moment of tribute and remembrance for the fallen officers.
According to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police, Inspector General Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Akhtar Hayat Khan, GOC Kohat Major General Zulfiqar Bhatti, Regional Police Officer Kohat Sher Akbar, and Commissioner Kohat Division Muhammad Abid Khan were among the dignitaries who participated in the funeral prayer. They were joined by District Police Officer Kohat Farhan Khan, Deputy Commissioner Kohat Dr. Azmatullah Wazir, along with other police, Pak Army officials, civil officers, relatives of the martyrs, and local citizens.
During the ceremony, IG Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Akhtar Hayat Khan and other officials paid their respects by saluting the martyrs and placing flowers on their coffins. A moment of Fatiha recitation was observed, accompanied by a salute from the armed forces of the police.
Following the funeral prayers, the bodies of the martyred policemen were sent to their native areas for burial. They will be laid to rest with full official honours in their respective hometowns.
This tragic incident, which claimed the lives of three policemen and a toll plaza employee, occurred near Lachi Toll Plaza on the Kohat-Indus Highway. The attack represents a significant loss to the local police force and the community, and the funeral ceremony was a somber reminder of the sacrifices made by law enforcement officers in the line of duty.
