ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Finance Minister, Muhammad Aurangzeb, has reiterated the government’s dedication to implementing reforms aimed at bolstering human capital and fostering inclusive economic growth. This commitment was articulated during discussions with a World Bank Group delegation led by Vice President for Human Development, Mamta Murthi.
According to Radio Pakistan, the minister acknowledged the World Bank Group’s ongoing partnership and support for Pakistan’s development goals. He highlighted the country’s progress in achieving macroeconomic stability and underscored the government’s increasing focus on social and human development through strategic investments in health, education, skills development, and social protection.
The Finance Minister stressed the necessity of focusing on tangible outcomes and effective execution within the framework of the World Bank’s long-term partnership with Pakistan. The World Bank delegation contributed insights on international best practices in workforce development, technical training, and employment-oriented skills programs. The discussions emphasized the need for stronger links with industry, increased private sector involvement in training, and aligning skills programs with labor market demands.
Both parties reaffirmed their dedication to continuing collaboration on Pakistan’s health, education, social protection, workforce development, and technology-enabled service delivery priorities.
