Islamabad: Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani has expressed appreciation for Italy’s support in maintaining Pakistan’s GSP+ status, while emphasizing the importance of enhancing bilateral relations between the two nations. In a meeting with Italy’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Marilina Armellin, Gilani reiterated Pakistan’s dedication to fostering friendly ties with Italy, grounded in mutual respect and shared interests.
According to Radio Pakistan, Gilani underscored the significance of parliamentary diplomacy and highlighted opportunities for increased trade and investment. He pointed out that the bilateral relationship extends beyond economic cooperation, encompassing collaboration on regional and international issues. Furthermore, he acknowledged Italy’s contributions to Pakistan’s development in healthcare, education, and sanitation sectors, recognizing these efforts as vital components of the partnership.
