Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Announces Public Relief Measures in Upcoming Budget


Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced that the forthcoming budget will introduce measures intended to provide relief to the public. This announcement was made during a meeting with a delegation of leading industrialists and prominent businessmen in Islamabad.



According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister emphasized the significance of a robust partnership between the government and the private sector as a foundation for economic growth. He underscored the importance of consulting the business community in shaping economic policies for Pakistan. Shehbaz Sharif reiterated the government’s focus on an export-led growth strategy, which remains central to the nation’s economic policy.



The Prime Minister also highlighted efforts to integrate the informal economy into the tax net, noting that business-friendly policies have played a role in stabilizing the economy and boosting the confidence of foreign investors. He mentioned initiatives to promote industries that enhance domestic production, increase exports, and generate employment opportunities.



Shehbaz Sharif pointed out that progress in industrial, agricultural, and information technology sectors would strengthen the economy and create new job opportunities. He also announced the launch of technical and vocational training programs for the youth to facilitate employment and contribute to national development.



During the meeting, participants were briefed on reforms introduced in tax tribunals for swift case resolution, and the establishment of a committee to examine the creation of Special Commercial Courts. Developments on infrastructure projects, including the upgradation of Motorway M-10 and Pipri Freight Corridor, were also discussed.



The business delegation expressed their confidence in the country’s economic recovery and fiscal management under the Prime Minister’s leadership. They appreciated the government’s initiatives to promote digital payments, a documented economy, and improvements in the ease of doing business. Business leaders also presented their proposals for the national economy and the upcoming budget, reaffirming their commitment to collaborating with the government for economic growth.
