Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has called for close coordination between federal and provincial governments to expedite the completion of major railway projects in Pakistan, including ML-1, ML-3, and the Thar Coal Rail Project. His remarks came during a meeting on Pakistan Railways held in the capital.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of completing these projects on time and maintaining quality standards, noting that such measures would help reduce construction costs and conserve national resources. He assured that budgetary provisions for these projects would be included in the forthcoming budget.
Sharif reiterated the government’s commitment to maintaining international standards, transparency, and efficiency in all ongoing projects. He highlighted the significance of investing in freight services and prioritizing the timely completion of these mega projects as part of the railways’ policy agenda. The development of world-class freight services, he noted, is essential for facilitating industrial goods transportation and boosting revenue for Pakistan Railways.
The Prime Minister also directed that necessary financial and institutional arrangements for ongoing railway projects be secured to prevent delays and ensure their successful completion.
