Finance Minister Meets with Pakistan Dairy Association to Boost Agricultural Exports


Islamabad, In a significant step towards enhancing Pakistan’s agricultural sector, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb met today with leaders from the Pakistan Dairy Association (PDA), including CEO of Fauji Foods Ltd, Mr. Usman Zaheer. The meeting, held at the Finance Division, focused on advancing the dairy industry’s contribution to the agricultural GDP and its potential for boosting economic development.



According to Press Information Department, Minister Aurangzeb highlighted the government’s dedication to fostering a business-friendly environment, particularly for the dairy sector, which he noted has ample opportunities for expanding exports. The minister encouraged industry leaders to implement new initiatives that would benefit not only large-scale producers but also small-scale farmers by enhancing their competitiveness and market access.



The dairy industry representatives emphasized the sector’s upward trend in exports and outlined the critical need for supportive government policies, including potential tax exemptions for dairy exports to stimulate further growth. In response, Minister Aurangzeb instructed the relevant authorities to draft a proposal considering these suggestions to bolster the industry.



The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment between the government and the PDA to enhance the dairy sector’s export capabilities, promote innovation, and align practices with international standards, reinforcing the industry’s role in Pakistan’s economic prosperity.
