Finance Minister Engages Pakistan Business Council on Economic Reforms and Policy Initiatives


Karachi: Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, convened with members of the Pakistan Business Council (PBC) in Karachi to discuss the country’s economic trajectory, focusing on reform agendas and the Government’s economic priorities.



According to Press Information Department, the Finance Minister acknowledged PBC’s role in facilitating dialogue between the Government and the private sector on critical economic issues. He emphasized the necessity for Pakistan to pursue structural reforms to bolster macroeconomic stability and sustainable growth, citing global examples of resilience through reform commitments.



Senator Aurangzeb outlined the Government’s early start in the budget preparation process for the 2026-27 fiscal year, aiming for a more organized approach to fiscal planning. He highlighted significant measures in the Federal Budget 2026-27, targeting export support and reaffirming the Government’s focus on an export-led growth model.



The Finance Minister stressed the importance of policy predictability, committing to a stable tax strategy to enhance business confidence and investment. Representatives from the PBC underscored the need for ongoing Government engagement with exporters to promote export-led growth.



The meeting concluded with the Finance Minister reaffirming the Government’s dedication to structural reforms, policy consistency, and creating a favorable environment for investment and economic growth.
