Islamabad, 12 Oct 2023:In a preparatory meeting chaired by the Federal Secretary for Railways, Syed Mazhar Ali Shah, deliberations were made regarding the forthcoming visit to China to coincide with the Belt and Road Forum (BRF). The Ministry of Railways intends to highlight the ML-1 project, advocating for an expedited commencement of work.
Additional railway projects, encompassing Gwadar connectivity, enhancement of the Quetta Taftan rail link, establishment of a new link between Quetta-Zhob and Dera Ismail Khan, a Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) between Karachi Port and Pipri, a new railway connection between Kohat, Thal and Kharlachi, Solarization in Railways, and the development and commercialization of railway stations, will also be presented to investors for potential execution. The chair expressed satisfaction regarding the preparatory work level, as per the press release issued by PID.
