Islamabad: Federal Minister Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh received recognition for his contributions to philanthropy and public service during an official visit to the United Kingdom. The commendation was presented at a ceremony held at the UK Parliament, highlighting his work both as a philanthropist and parliamentarian.
According to Press Information Department: The event was organized by the United International Forum UK (UIF-UK) and attended by British parliamentarians, House of Lords members, diplomats, and prominent members of the overseas Pakistani community. The former Secretary-General of the Commonwealth, Baroness Patricia Scotland, presented the honour, acknowledging Minister Sheikh’s services and global recognition.
UIF-UK President Shehzada Hayat lauded the Minister’s commitment, describing him as deeply connected with the people of Pakistan. He noted Mr. Sheikh’s philanthropic work, including his decision not to draw a salary as a public representative and his efforts in education and healthcare in Chiniot, which have significantly impacted underprivileged communities.
In his role as Federal Minister for the Board of Investment, Mr. Sheikh focuses on positioning Pakistan as a global investment destination, promoting industrial development, and fostering inclusive economic growth. His UK visit also included high-level meetings to encourage international investment in Pakistan.
The ceremony concluded with the formal presentation of the award by Baroness Scotland, recognizing Mr. Sheikh’s contributions to public service, philanthropy, and national development. His efforts have earned him respect both domestically and internationally.
