Islamabad: The Information Service Academy (ISA), in collaboration with the Institute of Regional Studies (IRS), organized a webinar titled “Narrative of Truth: Media’s Role in Building National Resolve” to commemorate Marka-e-Haq and focus on the media’s essential role in creating informed public discourse, promoting national cohesion, and enhancing collective resolve.
According to Press Information Department, the event gathered officers from the 43rd Specialized Training Program and featured panelists Maj Gen. Saad Khattak, Mr. Qamar Cheema, General Shahid Mahmood Kiyani, and Ambassador Jauhar Saleem. The panelists discussed the significance of truthful narration, responsible journalism, strategic communication, and the media’s role in fostering national unity amid contemporary challenges.
Speakers highlighted that in today’s fast-changing information landscape, the media has a significant responsibility to maintain accuracy, balance, and integrity, while also boosting confidence, resilience, and unity among citizens. The discussion emphasized the necessity for constructive narratives that align with national interests and cultivate a shared sense of purpose.
The session concluded with remarks by Ms. Samina Farzin, Executive Director General, who acknowledged the valuable contributions of the panelists and participants. She stressed the importance of such dialogues in raising awareness, enhancing institutional understanding, and promoting a narrative based on truth, responsibility, and national commitment.
The webinar exemplified ISA’s ongoing efforts to engage future public servants and stakeholders in meaningful discussions on national issues and to encourage responsible communication in support of Pakistan’s progress and unity.
