Islamabad: Federal Minister for Housing and Works Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada expressed grave concern over the prolonged delays in the Green Enclave-I and Lifestyle Residency projects during the 50th Executive Board Meeting of the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA). He directed the Authority to implement immediate measures to address the issues.
According to Press Information Department, the Minister questioned FGEHA authorities about the lack of progress, demanding detailed explanations for the delays. He noted that he has had to address questions from Parliamentary and Senate committees, as well as oversight forums, regarding the projects’ status. Despite nearly three years passing, the projects have not reached expected milestones.
The Minister acknowledged media reports of protests by the Green Enclave-I allottees and their appeal to the Federal Ombudsman, stressing the importance of transparency and accountability. He instructed that all pending inquiries be completed promptly and that the FGEHA Board take action based on the inquiry findings. The delays have caused uncertainty for investors, including senior bureaucrats and lower-grade officials, who are awaiting the completion of their homes.
The FGEHA Executive Board also approved the Authority’s annual budget for the financial year 2026-27 during the meeting.
