Farmers’ Agitation Disrupts Rail Services Between Delhi and Katra


Jammu, A significant farmers’ protest at the Shambhu border in Punjab has led to the disruption of railway services, resulting in the cancellation of four trains between Delhi and Katra, with several others delayed.



According to Kashmir Media Service, railway officials stated that the ongoing farmers’ protest has completely disturbed the timetable of the trains on the Delhi-Katra route. The agitation has forced the cancellation of several key services including the Jammu Mail, Shalimar, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi-Kalka Express, and the Udhampur-Delhi Sarai Rohilla AC Express, with disruptions expected to continue until May 7. In addition to the cancellations, trains such as the Vande Bharat, Jhelum, Begumpura, Himgiri Express, Pooja Superfast, Rajdhani, Uttar Sampark Kranti, Swaraj Express, Malwa Superfast, and Sealdah Express will be rerouted through alternative paths. This adjustment is set to delay their arrival times beyond the scheduled slots.



The disturbances highlight the significant impact of the farmers’ protests on regional transportation, affecting countless passengers and complicating travel plans.
