Islamabad, A dense fog warning has been issued for the plain areas of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Upper Sindh for the upcoming week, with citizens advised to exercise caution.
According to National Weather Forecasting Centre – Islamabad, a shallow westerly wave is currently affecting the western parts of the country. This weather pattern is expected to lead to mainly cold and dry conditions in most areas, with very cold weather in the northern regions. However, scattered rain-thunderstorms and snow over mountains are forecasted in Balochistan for Sunday.
For Monday, the forecast predicts cold and cloudy weather in most upper and western parts of the country, with continued very cold conditions in the north. Rain and snow over the mountains are likely in upper Balochistan and lower Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Dense fog and smog are expected to persist in Islamabad, Punjab, upper Sindh, and the plain areas of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
The past 24 hours have seen cold and dry weather prevail over most parts of the country, especially in the north, accompanied by dense fog and smog in several areas. Gwadar recorded 03 mm of rain. The lowest minimum temperatures recorded today were in Leh (-12°C), Skardu (-10°C), Kalam, Gilgit, Gupis (-05°C), Astore (04°C), Rawalakot, Chitral, and Srinagar (-03°C).
