RAWALPINDI: The Corps Commanders’ Conference has pledged to take all necessary steps to secure Pakistan’s rightful share of water, amid regional tensions and challenges. The conference, chaired by Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, underscored its commitment in alignment with government directives and the aspirations of the Pakistani people.
According to Radio Pakistan, the forum addressed concerns over Indian rhetoric regarding the Indus Waters Treaty and reinforced directives from the National Security Committee’s April 2025 guideline. The commanders also condemned human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, reiterating Kashmir’s significance to Pakistan and advocating for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination in line with United Nations Security Council resolutions.
The conference expressed serious concerns regarding the use of Afghan Taliban-controlled territory by Indian-sponsored terrorist groups targeting Pakistan. The forum stressed the need for the Afghan Taliban regime to prevent such activities and affirmed Pakistan’s right to defend its people through intelligence-based operations under Operation Ghazab-lil-Haq.
Beyond military actions, the commanders emphasized the necessity of establishing robust governance structures in restive areas to tackle the terror-crime nexus. They noted the increased reliance on hybrid warfare and disinformation campaigns against Pakistan, condemning all forms of state-supported terrorism and pledging to counter such destabilizing efforts with strategic clarity.
In reviewing the regional landscape, the forum appreciated Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts in promoting dialogue and regional stability. It reaffirmed Pakistan’s dedication to peaceful conflict resolution, respect for international law, and enhanced regional cooperation to address shared security challenges.
The forum expressed satisfaction with the operational preparedness and professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces, offering prayers for the martyrs of the Armed Forces, Law Enforcement Agencies, and civilians. Field Marshal Munir urged commanders to advance the multi-domain transformation plan and maintain vigilance and excellence in safeguarding Pakistan’s sovereignty and national interests.
