Continued Raids and Harassment by Indian Forces in Jammu and Kashmir Reported

SRINAGAR, The State Investigation Agency, under the control of New Delhi, along with Indian paramilitary personnel, has reportedly been conducting house raids and searches in various areas of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, leading to severe harassment of local residents.

According to Kashmir Media Service, these raids and searches, which have been ongoing for three consecutive days, took place in multiple districts including Srinagar, Islamabad, Pulwama, Kulgam, Shopian, and Baramulla. During these operations, officials confiscated mobile phones, laptops, and various personal documents. Local inhabitants expressed their distress, stating that these intrusive actions by Indian forces have disrupted their lives, instilling fear especially among women and children.

In addition, the historic Jamia Masjid in Srinagar was locked for the fifth consecutive Friday, preventing people from attending Juma prayers. This action was reportedly taken out of concern that gatherings at the mosque could lead to anti-India and anti-Israel demonstrations. Senior leaders of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, including Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Agha Syed Mohammed Hadi, were placed under house arrest. Another senior APHC leader, Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi, condemned the Israeli aggression in Gaza during a gathering in Badgam.

In a separate incident, a Central Reserve Police Force soldier committed suicide in the Qazigund area of Kulgam district, following a similar case in Baramulla district. These incidents bring the total number of such deaths among Indian troops and police personnel in the region to 584 since January 2007.

Furthermore, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference spokesman criticized the Indian government’s approach towards the Kashmiri freedom movement, calling for international intervention to resolve the Kashmir dispute. In Muzaffarabad, a seminar organized by the Youth Wing of Jammu and Kashmir Tehreek-e-Shabab-ul-Muslimeen highlighted the plight of Kashmiri Hurriyat leaders and activists detained in Indian and occupied Kashmir jails.
