Islamabad: Commonwealth Secretary-General Patricia Scotland is scheduled to begin a six-day official visit to Pakistan this Sunday. This visit marks her first official engagement in the country, undertaken at the invitation of the Pakistani government.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during her stay, Secretary-General Scotland will hold meetings with Pakistan’s top leadership, cabinet members, youth leaders, representatives of civil society, and other key stakeholders. These discussions are expected to focus on a range of bilateral and multilateral issues, including strengthening cooperation within the Commonwealth.
Secretary-General Scotland has been recognized for her advocacy in supporting Pakistan, particularly in addressing the adverse impacts of climate change. Her visit is anticipated to further these efforts and explore new avenues for collaboration between Pakistan and the Commonwealth in environmental and other strategic areas.
