Lahore, The 980th Urs of Hazrat Data Ganj Baksh Ali bin Usman Al-Hujwiri commenced with Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi and Senator Ishaq Dar leading the ceremonial covering of the shrine. The festivities began with Quranic recitation and praises of the Prophet Muhammad, while Naqvi emphasized on facilitating devotees and celebrating the Sufi teachings of peace and harmony.
According to Chief Minister of Punjab Press Releases, Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the chief minister alongside his associates, paid homage at the shrine, where he prayed for the nation’s progress and people’s prosperity. Naqvi also unveiled books by Dr. Tahir Raza on the life of Hazrat Data Ganj Baksh, further congratulating the devotees worldwide. Elaborate arrangements for food and lodging have been made to accommodate the visitors of the Urs, ensuring their comfort during the spiritual event. The ceremony was attended by dignitaries, scholars, and thousands of devotees.
