ISLAMABAD: Faisal Zahid Malik, Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of Pakistan Observer, met with Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani at the Parliament House in Islamabad, where he received congratulations on the announcement of the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz award for his contributions to journalism and the media sector.
According to Senate of Pakistan, Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani praised Malik for his longstanding contributions to journalism and his efforts in promoting responsible and professional journalism in Pakistan. The meeting also included discussions on the current state of journalism and the media industry in the country, addressing the challenges faced by the media, and emphasizing the significance of a free and responsible press in upholding democratic values and parliamentary institutions.
The meeting was attended by Senator Al-Haj Muhammad Umer Gorgaij, Member of the National Assembly Musa Gilani, and Saud Faisal Malik, Deputy Chief Editor and Chief of Digital at Pakistan Observer. The discussions were described as cordial and constructive.
