Islamabad: Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani met with Federal Ombudsman Naveed Kamran Baloch at the Parliament House to discuss the timely redressal of public complaints and the strengthening of effective systems. The meeting, a goodwill visit following Mr. Baloch’s assumption of office, focused on the institution’s performance and its system for addressing public grievances.
According to Senate of Pakistan, Mr. Baloch briefed the Chairman on the successful management of over 262,000 complaints related to maladministration in 2025, achieving compliance on approximately 97% of decisions. The Federal Ombudsman’s extensive regional network provides administrative justice directly to citizens.
Mr. Baloch announced the introduction of a modern online portal for lodging and resolving complaints, ensuring each is addressed within 60 days. Special attention is given to middle-class issues, with open courts and hearings in remote areas offering immediate relief.
The Federal Ombudsman’s institution prioritizes prompt resolution of public grievances, with measures in place to strengthen a transparent and efficient system for addressing complaints from government inefficiencies.
Chairman Gilani praised the institution’s performance and expressed hope for continued effective service delivery under Mr. Baloch’s leadership. He described the initiatives as a milestone in promoting good governance, transparency, and public service.
The Chairman extended his best wishes to Mr. Baloch, who in response, lauded Chairman Gilani’s contributions to democracy and public welfare. The meeting concluded with a reaffirmed commitment to enhancing cooperation.
