Caretaker PM Pledges Persistent Efforts to Tackle Pakistan’s Economic Challenges

Islamabad, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar has pledged persistent efforts to address the economic challenges facing Pakistan until the end of his tenure. This commitment was made during a review meeting focused on various issues concerning Karachi Electric, held in Islamabad today.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Prime Minister emphasized the government’s top priority to facilitate international investors and the business community to attract foreign investment into the country. He highlighted that adhering to this principle has yielded positive outcomes.

During the meeting, representatives from Karachi Electric expressed their appreciation for the Prime Minister and his team’s efforts in resolving longstanding issues faced by the company. The Prime Minister assured that the government would prioritize resolving the remaining challenges faced by Karachi Electric and is committed to ensuring a steady power supply to Karachi’s residents.

The caretaker government has been credited with addressing significant and long-standing issues within a brief period, setting the country on a path toward economic stabilization. The meeting also discussed the problems encountered by Karachi Electric and proposed solutions.

Prime Minister Kakar has instructed that NEPRA and Karachi Electric collaborate closely to find solutions to these issues promptly and to report back as soon as possible. He also lauded the recent signing of the interconnection agreement between the National Transmission and Dispatch Company and Karachi Electric, marking a significant step towards resolving the power supply challenges in Karachi.

The CEO of Karachi Electric lauded the Prime Minister and government officials for their swift action in addressing the company’s issues, underscoring the importance of government support for the energy sector’s stability.
