Caretaker PM Inaugurates Hospital and Desalination Plant in Gwadar

ISLAMABAD, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar ul Haq Kakar has inaugurated the Pakistan-China Friendship Hospital and a seawater desalination plant in Gwadar, marking a significant step in the city’s development. The inauguration ceremony highlighted the ongoing collaboration between Pakistan and China in improving infrastructure and essential services in the region.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Prime Minister expressed confidence that the new desalination plant would significantly address Gwadar’s water issues. He also acknowledged China’s support in constructing the Pakistan-China Friendship Hospital, emphasizing the strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

Prime Minister Kakar discussed the progress of Gwadar International Airport, nearing its operational phase, and directed efforts to connect the northern zone with the national grid to resolve electricity issues in Gwadar. He stated that improved connectivity under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) has brought considerable benefits and set a solid development trajectory for Gwadar and Balochistan.

Emphasizing the irreversible direction of development in the region, the Prime Minister assured the protection of Chinese nationals in Pakistan, reaffirming the commitment of federal and provincial governments, armed forces, and law enforcement agencies to their safety.

Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong, who spoke at the ceremony, underscored the commitment to timely completion of CPEC-related projects and elevating the Pakistan-China relationship through joint efforts.

Caretaker Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Ali Mardan Khan Domki also addressed the ceremony, linking Pakistan’s development with Balochistan’s progress. He expressed the government’s dedication to Gwadar’s development and improving the living standards of its residents, highlighting the Pakistan-China Friendship Hospital’s role in providing better healthcare facilities to the people of Gwadar.
