Caretaker PM Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar Asserts No Negotiation with Anti-State Elements and Clarifies Other State Policies

Islamabad, 13 Oct 2023: Caretaker Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar, in a session with the media in Peshawar on Friday, solidified his stance against all anti-state elements in Pakistan, based on the press release from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MOIB). The Prime Minister elucidated the government’s clear policy regarding Afghan refugees and underscored that illegal foreign residents would be repatriated. Unambiguously rejecting rumours regarding negotiations with the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Kakar asserted that the writ of the state will be steadfastly upheld and no dialogues will be entertained with elements opposing the state.

Firm on no concessions being made on the nation’s security, Kakar also shared updates on several key aspects pertaining to Pakistan’s socio-economic status and governance. The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will be releasing the schedule for the imminent general elections, with the interim government ensuring their execution within the constitutional confines.

In the economic sphere, a diminution in petroleum prices is anticipated as a measure to alleviate public financial strain. A noteworthy reduction in the country’s foreign debts was also highlighted by the Prime Minister, attributing a drop by four thousand billion rupees to the rupee’s fortification against the dollar.

When queried about the forthcoming general elections, Kakar affirmed that all political parties registered with the ECP are slated to contest. His insights provided clarity and affirmed the government’s position on several pivotal issues affecting the nation and its citizenry as the nation transitions through the caretaker government and towards the upcoming elections.
