Karachi, In a significant move to address healthcare challenges in Sindh, Caretaker Chief Minister Justice (Rtd) Maqbool Baqer convened a meeting with a delegation of doctors from various medical institutions and associations at the Chief Minister House. The meeting aimed to discuss policy issues and challenges in enhancing the service quality of government health institutions in the region.
According to Sindh Chief Minister House, the delegation included members from various medical associations and institutions such as the Medical Association (MA), College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP), Young Doctors Association, People’s Doctors Forum, Society of Surgeons, and notable figures like Prof. Dr. Saeed Qureshi, Vice Chancellor of Dow University, and Prof. Shahid Rasool, Executive Director of Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC). The participants engaged in a consultative process, discussing key policy measures to improve healthcare services for the people of Sindh.
The Caretaker Chief Minister emphasized the importance of resolving issues related to the service structure and budget of healthcare institutions, assuring the representatives of the doctors’ associations that these matters would be addressed as a priority. The meeting reflects the caretaker government’s commitment to improving healthcare services in Sindh, recognizing the critical role of medical professionals and their input in shaping effective health policies.
