Peshawar, Justice (R) Syed Arshad Hussain Shah, the Caretaker Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, made unannounced visits to the Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) Peshawar and the Faqirabad area on Tuesday. During his visit, he inspected the facilities, interacted with patients and healthcare providers, and assessed the overall functioning of the hospital. Accompanied by supervising provincial ministers and other officials, the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of efficient healthcare services and infrastructure maintenance in the region.
According to Directorate General Information and PRs of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Chief Minister’s visit to LRH included tours of the General OPD, as well as Surgical and Medical Units. He listened to the concerns of patients’ attendants and issued immediate orders for redressal to the hospital administration. Shah directed the hospital administration to ensure an uninterrupted supply of medicines and optimal care for patients.
Furthermore, during his visit to the Faqirabad area of Peshawar, the Chief Minister expressed dissatisfaction with the maintenance and cleaning of the canals. He ordered an inquiry against officials responsible for the poor condition and directed the relevant provincial minister and administrative secretary to oversee the maintenance and repair works.
The Chief Minister’s field visits underscore his commitment to addressing mismanagement and negligence in provincial departments. He emphasized regular monitoring and field visits by ministers and administrative secretaries to ensure the effective functioning of their respective departments. Shah warned that any deficiencies or oversights found during his inspections would result in accountability for the concerned departmental secretaries.
