Islamabad, Dr. Muhammad Amjad Saqib, Chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), emphasized the state’s responsibility in providing financial support to the needy and highlighted the role of skill development and education in breaking the poverty cycle. Addressing BISP employees in Chakwal, he underscored the need for inclusive welfare efforts and solidarity.
According to Press Information Department, Dr. Amjad Saqib, during his speech at the Jamia Masjid Eidgah in Chakwal, stressed that BISP extends financial assistance to all needy people regardless of their color, religion, caste, or political affiliations. He highlighted the crucial role of education and skill development in empowering youth from economically challenged backgrounds and breaking the cycle of poverty. Drawing on the principles of ‘Muwakhat’, Dr. Saqib called for a spirit of brotherhood and solidarity in supporting poor families.
In his visit to the Chakwal BISP office, Dr. Saqib directed officers to ensure cleanliness and maintain a conducive working environment for the organization’s efficient functioning. He emphasized the need to provide all necessary facilities to those in need with the available resources, reaffirming BISP’s commitment to transparency and accountability. This includes the timely disbursement of payments without deductions.
