Islamabad: The week-long academic engagements of a high-level Bangladeshi academic delegation in Pakistan concluded with a visit to the National University of Technology (NUTECH) in Islamabad, marking the end of a collaborative effort to explore bilateral cooperation in higher education and innovation.
According to Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, the delegation, led by Chairman University Grants Commission (UGC) Bangladesh Prof. Dr. Mamun Ahmed, focused on strengthening ties in applied research, innovation, and emerging technologies. During their visit, the delegates were briefed on NUTECH’s academic programs, industry-driven educational model, and the university’s initiatives aimed at promoting skill development and technological advancement.
The delegation toured various academic and technical facilities at the university and engaged in discussions with university officials on potential future collaborations. These discussions included topics such as faculty and student exchanges, joint research projects, academic partnerships, and cooperation in technical and vocational education.
The visit concluded with the delegation’s departure from Islamabad International Airport, where they were seen off by Md. Iqbal Hussain Khan, High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Pakistan, alongside senior officials from the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan. Prof. Dr. Mamun Ahmed expressed gratitude for the hospitality extended by HEC Pakistan and the host universities, noting the productivity of the engagements and their role in strengthening academic ties between the two countries.
Prof. Dr. Mamun Ahmed also reaffirmed his commitment to enhancing long-term cooperation between the higher education sectors of Pakistan and Bangladesh, aiming to benefit students, researchers, and academic institutions in both nations.
