Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Meets Pakistani Prime Minister to Bolster Bilateral Ties


Islamabad, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif today, discussing ways to deepen the relationship between the two nations across various strategic sectors. The discussions emphasized enhancing cooperation in trade, investment, energy, and security.



According to Press Information Department, Prime Minister Sharif expressed satisfaction with the positive trajectory of Azerbaijan-Pakistan relations. He highlighted the mutual support that both countries have consistently provided each other on key international issues and reaffirmed their commitment to continue this support at all international forums. The Prime Minister also congratulated Minister Bayramov on selecting Baku as the host city for the upcoming COP29 in November 2024, and he confirmed Pakistan’s support to ensure the event’s success.



During the meeting, Prime Minister Sharif reminisced about his fruitful interactions with President Aliyev during his visit to Baku in June 2023, and he extended a warm invitation to the Azeri President to visit Pakistan later this year. In response, Foreign Minister Bayramov thanked Prime Minister Sharif for the warm reception and briefed him on earlier discussions with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sen. Muhammad Ishaq Dar. He also conveyed greetings from the Azeri leadership, emphasizing Azerbaijan’s keen interest in further strengthening its ties with Pakistan.
