AJK President Urges Effective Implementation of Accountability Act

Islamabad, President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry recently met with the newly appointed Chairman of the Accountability Bureau, Mushtaq Ahmed Janjua, at the Kashmir House in Islamabad. During the meeting, President Chaudhry emphasized the high expectations of the people of Azad Kashmir from the Accountability Bureau and the importance of effectively implementing the Accountability Act to eradicate corruption and dishonesty from the region.

According to President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, the Accountability Act, passed by the Legislative Assembly of AJK in 2001 during Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry’s tenure as Prime Minister, was designed to establish a framework for transparency and accountability in the region. President Chaudhry reiterated his support for the Act and commended its significance in the ongoing fight against corruption. He also extended his congratulations to Mushtaq Ahmed Janjua on his appointment as Chairman of the Accountability Bureau, expressing optimism that Janjua’s leadership would further the bureau’s mission.

Chairman Accountability Bureau Mushtaq Ahmed Janjua expressed gratitude towards President Chaudhry for his appointment and the trust placed in him to lead the bureau. The meeting also provided an opportunity for both leaders to discuss matters of mutual interest and reinforce their commitment to accountability and good governance in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
