Kotli, Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Ch. Anwarul Haq, has declared that the people of Kashmir will never yield to Indian oppression and occupation. This statement was made during a large public gathering in Kotli.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the AJK Prime Minister emphasized the ongoing liberation struggle against India in the Indian-occupied territory of Jammu and Kashmir. He reaffirmed the commitment to achieving the right of self-determination, an objective that has seen numerous sacrifices by the Kashmiri people.
Haq highlighted the unity among Pakistan’s political, religious, and military leadership on the Kashmir issue. He mentioned the strong bond between the people of Kashmir and Pakistan, stating that it was unbreakable and essential to the Kashmir cause.
The Prime Minister also referred to Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir’s recent address at Kakul, noting that the army chief effectively articulated Pakistan’s position on the Kashmir issue. This statement, he noted, has brought optimism to Kashmiris on both sides of the line of control and boosted their morale.
Haq stressed the importance of the freedom struggle in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir, warning that turning away from this movement would threaten their very existence. He stated that Kashmir’s freedom struggle is a top priority and that Kashmiris are prepared to make any sacrifice for their right to self-determination.
The Prime Minister urged the new generation to stay connected with their homeland’s history and prioritize the freedom movement. He recalled the historic resolution of 19 July 1947, where Kashmiris opted to join Pakistan, asserting that Kashmiris would resist India’s pressure tactics.
Further, Haq mentioned the coalition government’s focus on the development and welfare of the people in the state but reiterated that the ongoing freedom movement remains a top priority. He also paid tribute to the Pakistani armed forces for their support and assured that any Indian misadventure would be met with a strong response.
The event saw the participation of various political leaders and dignitaries, including the leader of the opposition Khawaja Farooq Ahmed, PPP leader Chaudhry Mohammad Yasin, and former Prime Minister Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi, among others.
