World Bank Commits to Supporting Pakistan’s Development Goals with $20 Billion Framework


Islamabad: The World Bank has reaffirmed its commitment to support Pakistan in achieving long-term development goals through sustained engagement, strategic financing, and technical expertise. This commitment was articulated during a meeting between Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema and the World Bank’s Country Director Bolormaa Amgaabazar in Islamabad.



According to Radio Pakistan, the discussions concentrated on the key outcomes of the Country Partnership Framework (CPF), a decade-long initiative supporting Pakistan with $20 billion allocated for development projects and reform programs. The Country Director expressed confidence that, with consistent efforts, Pakistan could unlock stronger investment, enhanced productivity, and inclusive growth.



Ahad Khan Cheema emphasized that both the federal and provincial governments are committed to implementing the CPF and achieving its intended outcomes. He expressed appreciation for the World Bank Group’s continued support and reiterated the government’s resolve to ensure policy continuity and effective reform implementation.
