Two Indian police men killed in Jharkhand attack

Chaibasa, August 15, 2023 (PPI-OT): Two Indian Jaguar Force policemen were killed in disturbed Jharkhand state of India. Policemen were killed in a gunfight with Maoist guerrillas in Tonto area of West Singhbhum district of the state, a police officer said.

The deceased policemen were identified as Amit Tiwari and Gautam Kumar, were killed in a Maoist ambush, West Singhbhum Superintendent of Police Ashutosh Shekhar told media. The incident took place a few days after an Indian CRPF man was killed and another was injured in an encounter with Maoist guerrillas in the same area. The massive operation was underway in the area, the Indian police officer added.
