Turkish Constitutional Court Delegation Visits Pakistan, Strengthening Judicial Ties


ISLAMABAD: A delegation from the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Türkiye, led by President Mr. Justice Kadir Özkaya, visited the Federal Constitutional Court of Pakistan, marking a significant step towards enhancing judicial cooperation between the two nations.



According to Press Information Department, the delegation was warmly welcomed upon arrival at the Court premises and participated in an interactive session held in the Chief Justice’s Chamber. The discussions involved the Honorable Chief Justice and judges of the Federal Constitutional Court, along with prominent figures such as the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, the Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court, the Attorney General, the Federal Law Minister, and the Registrars of both Courts.



A formal ceremony was held to exchange gifts and souvenirs as a symbol of goodwill and mutual respect. The visit included the screening of a documentary on the establishment of the Federal Constitutional Court and the oath-taking ceremony of its Chief Justice, followed by a luncheon for the Turkish delegation and other guests. The visit concluded with a group photograph.



Discussions during the visit focused on constitutional interpretation, the integration of Artificial Intelligence in judicial processes, and capacity-building. Both sides emphasized the importance of upholding constitutional supremacy and ensuring access to justice. They reaffirmed their commitment to advancing judicial cooperation and agreed to continue high-level engagements, exploring avenues for sustained cooperation in strengthening constitutional governance.
