Tori Bangash Road Set to Open by September 30, Says Karachi Mayor

KARACHI: Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab announced that the Tori Bangash Road, currently under development, is expected to be completed and opened to the public by September 30. During an inspection of the project, Wahab was briefed by officials from the Engineering Department on the progress of the road, which aims to enhance connectivity and ease transportation for residents.

According to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, the Tori Bangash Road is a significant infrastructure undertaking with an estimated cost of approximately Rs. 1 billion. This project will serve as an alternative route linking District West, Orangi, and Keamari with Hub River Road, facilitating daily commutes for thousands of citizens. Additionally, a new stormwater drain is being constructed alongside the road, with completion expected in the coming days to ensure the road construction is finalized by the deadline.

Mayor Wahab emphasized the importance of this project for alleviating traffic congestion on major roads and improving transportation facilities for the area’s residents. He reiterated the commitment to completing both the road and stormwater drain within the stipulated timeframe to provide timely benefits to the public.

The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation is actively working on numerous development projects across the city, aiming to enhance basic municipal facilities and infrastructure. Mayor Wahab expressed confidence in the Pakistan Peoples Party’s capacity to restore Karachi’s status as the City of Lights through these ongoing efforts.
