Islamabad, April 26, 2023 (PPI-OT):Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervez Ashraf has said that the problems faced by the Muslim Ummah can be dealt with by following the teachings of Allama Iqbal. He expressed these views in his ongoing statement on the occasion of Allama Iqbal’s 84th death anniversary.
Speaker National Assembly said that Allama Iqbal was the thinker of Pakistan, who awakened the Muslim Ummah from slumber through his poetry. He said that it was Iqbal who made Quaid-e-Azam realize that he could give Muslims a separate homeland through his leadership skills. He further said that Allama Iqbal’s death anniversary provides an opportunity for Muslims to reflect on his ideas and teachings. He said that the poet of the East’s dream of a separate homeland for Muslims where they could live according to their religious principles was no less than a blessing.
The speaker said that Allama Iqbal was the advocate of unity among Muslims and he taught Muslims to rely on their own resources and strength. He said that we can overcome the current problems by following the teachings of Allama Iqbal and adopting Islamic practices.
On this occasion, Deputy Speaker Zahid Akram Durrani said that Iqbal was a philosopher, poet and thinker of Pakistan, who first envisioned a separate Muslim state in Allahabad in 1930. He said that Allama Muhammad Iqbal’s poetry is a torch for people of all classes. He said that by adopting the teachings of Iqbal, we can get out of the crises faced by the Muslim Ummah, especially Pakistan.
