Islamabad: The Supreme Court of Pakistan commenced its new judicial year today with a full court reference, announcing significant changes aimed at enhancing transparency in the judiciary.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Chief Justice Qazi Faez Issa, in his address at the event, highlighted a major shift in the court’s approach to handling cases of public interest. He announced that hearings in such cases would now be aired live, allowing the public to observe the proceedings and assess the performance of the Supreme Court directly.
This move is seen as part of broader efforts to foster greater openness and accountability within the judiciary, and to bridge the gap between the public and judicial processes.
