KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah announced a plan to generate and distribute affordable electricity through a provincial grid, aiming to provide relief for domestic consumers and boost industrial growth. According to Chief Minister Sindh, Shah discussed this plan with Danish Ambassador Maja Derrous Mortensen at the CM House, where they explored strengthening bilateral cooperation in renewable energy and environmental sustainability.
The chief minister stated that the Sindh government is working on projects to produce low-cost electricity, delivering it efficiently through its transmission company. He emphasized that the goal is to ensure affordable electricity for households and industries by improving generation efficiency and reducing line losses, which would lead to public relief and enhanced economic activity.
Murad Ali Shah highlighted Sindh’s potential in wind energy along its coastal belt, aiming to transform the region into a hub for clean energy. He invited Danish companies to explore opportunities in wind power and other green initiatives, with the Danish ambassador expressing interest in supporting environmentally sustainable projects.
The meeting also focused on coastal development, particularly the strategic importance of Keti Bandar as a modern deep-sea port. The chief minister emphasized its potential for regional trade, offering cooperation to Danish investors. Both sides agreed to explore cooperation in energy, infrastructure, and investment, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening Pakistan-Denmark relations.
