KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah affirmed his administration’s dedication to fostering industrial growth and infrastructural development, highlighting the importance of public-private partnerships in healthcare and other sectors. Speaking at a ceremony organized by the Karachi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) to honor Dr. Abdul Bari Khan, founder of the Indus Hospital Network, Shah emphasized the government’s focus on improving law and order and infrastructure to boost economic expansion across the province.
According to Chief Minister Sindh, the integration of the Shaheed Bhutto Expressway with Karachi Port is set to transform trade and industry in the region. Shah reiterated that his government prioritizes creating a conducive environment for industrial development, with numerous infrastructure projects underway to enhance connectivity and logistics. He also addressed security concerns previously raised by industrialists, noting the establishment of a dedicated task force to improve safety in the Korangi Industrial Area.
The Chief Minister highlighted the successful public-private partnership with the Indus Hospital Network, emphasizing the government’s role as a genuine partner rather than just a donor. The collaboration has expanded healthcare services beyond Karachi to underserved areas in Sindh. Shah praised Dr. Abdul Bari Khan for his humanitarian contributions, acknowledging the hospital’s role in delivering free, high-quality treatment.
KATI President Muhammad Ikram Rajput and former President Zubair Chhaya commended the government’s support for industrial development and healthcare initiatives. They noted the significant improvements in infrastructure and law and order, which have positively impacted the industrial sector. Dr. Abdul Bari Khan expressed gratitude for the government’s support, which has enabled the Indus Hospital Network to extend its services across Pakistan.
The ceremony concluded with a unanimous endorsement of continued collaboration between government, industry, and social sector institutions to advance public welfare and development in Sindh.
