Sikh Father and Son Fatally Shot in Edmonton, Canada

TORONTO, In a shocking incident, a member of the Sikh community and his 11-year-old son were tragically killed in Edmonton, Canada.

According to Kashmir Media Service, that Harpreet Singh Uppal, 41, and his young son were shot dead in their vehicle in broad daylight on Thursday outside a gas station at a shopping plaza. The Edmonton police confirmed that both victims succumbed to their injuries at the scene. Miraculously, another boy in the vehicle survived the attack unharmed.

The incident has sparked concern and fear among the Sikh community in Canada, with speculations arising about potential involvement of Indian government agents in the killings. This concern stems from a statement made by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in September, where he disclosed Indian government agents’ involvement in the assassination of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, a prominent leader of the Khalistan movement. Nijjar was killed outside a gurdwara in Surrey, British Columbia, on June 18 earlier this year. Since Trudeau’s revelation, diplomatic relations between Canada and India have been strained.
