Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Highlights Positive Economic Trends as Key Indicators Improve

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed optimism over the recent improvements in Pakistan’s economic indicators, as detailed in a monthly economic outlook report. The Prime Minister noted significant growth in remittances, reaching over $7.3 billion, up from $6.3 billion in July and August, marking a 16.5 percent year-on-year increase in August.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister emphasized the crucial role of overseas Pakistanis, labeling them a national asset for their contributions to the economy. He also highlighted a four percent increase in exports and an 80.2 percent rise in foreign direct investment during the same period, attributing these developments to the government’s efforts in creating a favorable environment for economic activity.

Shehbaz Sharif pointed to the country’s foreign exchange reserves reaching $26.8 billion as an indicator of external sector improvement. He reiterated the government’s commitment to implementing reforms and effective policies to ensure sustainable economic stability. The Prime Minister also mentioned encouraging signs in large-scale manufacturing, agricultural lending, and company registrations, which increased by 38.8 percent in July, reflecting growing business activity.

The Prime Minister conveyed the government’s intention to further strengthen economic growth through reforms and investment promotion, aiming to ensure that economic stability benefits the population by creating more employment and business opportunities.
