Islamabad, Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar today participated in the ongoing Envoys’ Conference at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The conference, taking place from January 4 to 6, 2024, has brought together Pakistan’s envoys from major global capitals to discuss and strategize on the country’s foreign policy.
According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani welcomed Prime Minister Kakar and outlined the framework for the conference. He emphasized the forum’s importance as a platform for deliberating on diplomatic challenges and opportunities for Pakistan in the context of current global and regional developments. Jilani stressed the need to strengthen the role of the Foreign Office in shaping and implementing foreign policy.
In his keynote address, Prime Minister Kakar shared insights into the pressing demands of Pakistan’s foreign policy, aligning it with contemporary imperatives. He advocated for a foreign policy that envisages Pakistan as a progressive and economically growing state, focusing on the socio-economic welfare of its people. The Prime Minister emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to international law, the principles of the UN Charter, economic diplomacy, and support for the Palestinian cause.
Significantly, Prime Minister Kakar reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Kashmir cause, calling for the resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in accordance with the United Nations Security Council resolutions and the wishes of the Kashmiri people.
The Prime Minister described the conference as both timely and relevant, considering the significant changes occurring in the region and worldwide. He expressed confidence in Pakistan’s diplomatic corps, emphasizing their ability to effectively navigate the challenges faced by the nation.
Prime Minister Kakar concluded his address by extending best wishes to the Foreign Office and Pakistani diplomats, entrusting them with the responsibility of safeguarding Pakistan’s interests and enhancing its stature on the global stage.
