Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari expressed appreciation for the efforts of Nawaf bin Said Al-Malkiy, Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Pakistan, in fortifying the longstanding fraternal and strategic relations between the two nations.
According to Press Information Department, President Zardari made these remarks during a farewell meeting with Ambassador Nawaf at Aiwan-e-Sadr. The President acknowledged the Ambassador’s role in advancing bilateral ties, especially in political, economic, and trade sectors, and highlighted the warmth and cooperation extended to Pakistan during his tenure.
President Zardari emphasized the enduring friendship and strategic partnership with Saudi Arabia, acknowledging the Kingdom’s consistent support for Pakistan. He expressed optimism that the foundation laid during Ambassador Nawaf’s tenure would continue to enhance bilateral cooperation.
Ambassador Nawaf, who has served in Pakistan since 2017, conveyed gratitude to the President and the people of Pakistan for their warmth and cooperation. He assured that Pakistan would remain close to his heart. The President wished him success in future endeavors and reiterated that Pakistan would always be his second home.
Senator Sherry Rehman was also present during the meeting.
