Islamabad: Member of the National Assembly, Parliamentary Secretary for National Heritage and Culture, and President of the PML-N Women Wing Islamabad, Farah Naz Akbar, has underscored the critical role of women’s development and empowerment in Pakistan’s progress.

According to Press Information Department, during a seminar organized by Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal on women’s development and empowerment, Akbar stated that true societal progress hinges on providing equal opportunities for women, who constitute half of the population. She advocated for women’s increased access to education, skills development, entrepreneurship, technology, politics, and leadership roles.

Akbar highlighted the potential of young women in Pakistan, particularly in education and technology, emphasizing that with proper training, financial support, and business opportunities, women could significantly contribute to the national economy. She called for the inclusion of women from rural and disadvantaged areas in economic activities through handicrafts, home-based industries, and e-commerce.

She noted that Pakistani women play a vital role in preserving the country’s culture and traditions. By linking traditional skills with modern markets, women can create new employment opportunities while safeguarding cultural heritage.

Akbar also emphasized the importance of women’s participation in politics and decision-making, asserting that it strengthens democracy. She urged the translation of PML-N’s vision into practical measures to enhance women’s education, economic empowerment, and political involvement.

Urging women to have confidence in their abilities, Akbar called for a transformation of Pakistan into a nation where women receive education, dignity, and employment opportunities. She concluded by stating that empowered women are essential for building strong families and a robust society, which in turn strengthens the nation.
