Islamabad: At the invitation of the Kyrgyz Republic’s President, Sadyr Zhaparov, Pakistan’s President, Asif Ali Zardari, will embark on an official visit to the Kyrgyz Republic from July 6 to July 9, 2026, leading a high-level delegation. This marks the first visit by a Pakistani president to the Kyrgyz Republic in 21 years, highlighting a significant development in the bilateral relationship between the two nations.
According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the visit follows the successful visit of Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov to Pakistan in December 2025, emphasizing the growing high-level engagement between the countries. During the visit, President Zardari will engage in one-on-one meetings and delegation-level talks with President Zhaparov. The discussions will cover the full range of Pakistan-Kyrgyzstan relations and regional and international developments of mutual interest. Key areas of focus will include enhancing cooperation in trade, investment, energy, mining, agriculture, textiles, the halal industry, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, the digital economy, education, tourism, and fostering closer people-to-people ties.
In addition to these meetings, President Zardari will also have a courtesy meeting with the Speaker of the Kyrgyz Parliament. The visit underscores the warm and fraternal relations between Pakistan and the Kyrgyz Republic, rooted in shared history, faith, and culture, and a mutual aspiration for peace, connectivity, and prosperity in Central and South Asia.
