Islamabad: Pakistan has vowed to safeguard its rights to water resources under the Indus Waters Treaty, with Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar emphasizing the treaty’s essential role in the nation’s sustenance.
According to Radio Pakistan, Tarar, in a statement on the social media platform X, criticized India’s attempt to unilaterally hold the Indus Waters Treaty in abeyance, describing it as lacking both legal and moral justification. He added that the move has resulted only in embarrassment for India and represents a clear breach of the “One Water-One Vision” principle, endorsed by the United Nations.
