Karachi, On the eve of Christmas 2023, President Dr. Arif Alvi of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan extended his warmest greetings to the Christian community, emphasizing the importance of love, compassion, and peace as taught by Hazrat Essa (A.S). The President’s message, delivered on December 24, highlighted the significant role of the Christian community in Pakistan’s development and the nation’s commitment to religious diversity and minority rights.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, President Alvi underscored the importance of Christmas as a time for joy, reflection, and celebration. He recognized the Christian community’s contributions to Pakistan’s social and economic progress, particularly in promoting peace, tolerance, and harmony. The President’s message reflected the values of unity and understanding among different communities, fostering a spirit of goodwill and celebrating the essence of Christmas.

Reiterating the principles laid out by Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan, President Alvi reaffirmed that all citizens, irrespective of their religion, color, or creed, are guaranteed equal rights, privileges, and obligations under the Constitution of Pakistan. He highlighted that Islam, as the country’s majority religion, fully recognizes and protects the rights of minorities. The President also pointed out that the government provides equal opportunities to all citizens, ensuring the protection of minority rights.
