ISLAMABAD: The Foreign Office has criticized a recent social media post by the British Special Representative for Afghanistan, labeling it as one-sided. The comments, which pertain to developments along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, have been described as lacking balance and objectivity by Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Andrabi.
According to Radio Pakistan, Andrabi responded to media inquiries by urging a more comprehensive understanding of the regional dynamics and Pakistan’s principled stance. He highlighted the significant sacrifices made by the Pakistani people in their fight against terrorism. Andrabi expressed concern over continued cross-border aggression and infiltration attempts from Afghanistan, despite Pakistan’s goodwill gesture of a temporary pause announced earlier this year.
He noted that, since March, there have been indiscriminate and unprovoked attacks from the Afghan Taliban, alongside activities by Taliban-supported proxies, resulting in the deaths of fifty-two civilians and injuring eighty-four others. Andrabi emphasized that while Pakistan has exercised restraint, it has effectively targeted Afghan Taliban posts and thwarted multiple infiltration attempts to protect its borders.
