President Advocates Stronger Business Ties with Bosnia and Herzegovina

Islamabad, President Asif Ali Zardari has called for enhanced business and trade relations with Bosnia and Herzegovina during a meeting with Bosnian Ambassador Emin Cohodarevic in Islamabad today.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, President Zardari highlighted the need for establishing banking connections, trading in local currencies, and promoting bilateral barter trade to strengthen economic ties. The longstanding relationship between the two countries, spanning nearly three decades, was cited as a strong foundation for increasing cooperation in sectors such as economy, security, and culture.

Ambassador Cohodarevic outlined the potential for Pakistani businesses in Bosnia and Herzegovina’s food, tourism, and textile industries and requested Pakistan’s support for a Bosnian draft resolution on Srebrenica at the United Nations General Assembly. President Zardari assured that Pakistan would examine the request favorably, reiterating Pakistan’s solidarity with the victims of the 1995 Srebrenica tragedy. Additionally, the Ambassador invited President Zardari to visit Bosnia and Herzegovina to further economic cooperation.
